Belgium—
Garmin-Transitions rider
Tyler Farrar kept his hot streak alive, sprinting to his
second major win in Belgium in a week. Farrar powered past some of the world’s fastest sprinters on his
Felt F1 to take the
victory in the 98th Schelderprijs, a 204.5-kilometer midweek Semi-Classic.
Farrar’s win at the Antwerp event follows a
stage victory at last week’s
Three Days of De Panne stage race and an impressive
fifth-place finish at
Tour of Flanders Classic on April 4.
Farrar, an American who lives in Belgium, told journalists after Flanders that he’s feeling stronger than ever this season.
Farrar timed his sprint perfectly in Wednesday's Scheldeprijs race, beating Australian Robbie McEwen and German Robert Forster, who finished second and third respectively.
