Mafia Racing gears up for wintry NACT Cyclocross event

Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Based out of Boulder, Mafia Racing will field one of its strongest pro teams ever for the UCI elite event. No stranger to snow and cold, Jake Wells (pictured) of Avon, Colorado, will be one of the top Mafia riders to watch in the men’s events. Wells has already won several regional cyclocross events in Colorado and netted an impressive top-15 result at the CrossVegas event in Las Vegas last month.

In women’s racing, Kate Scheider, currently top-10 in the Colorado cyclocross rankings, will face off against the strongest riders in the country.

In addition to Wells and Scheider, Mafia Racing will field a full squad of pro men, along with numerous amateur and masters riders. Throughout the weekend—rain, snow or shine — the Mafia compound will be the best place for spectators and racers alike to enjoy cold Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, check out the latest Felt F15X cyclocross bikes and catch a game of foursquare or cornhole.
