France –
Garmin-Transitions rider
David Millar put in a stellar solo effort on the
all-new 2011 Felt DA to
finish second in Wednesday’s 49km Stage 3 Time Trial at the
Dauphiné Libéré stage race in France.
The Dauphiné Libéré race is considered a key preparation event for the three week Tour de France next month, and many of the sport’s top talents are racing the eight-day stage race. Millar finished in front of two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador and 2009 Giro d’Italia champion Denis Menchov.
Millar’s time, 26 seconds off stage winner Janez Brajkovic of Slovenia, moved him into
second-place overall in the race. He powered through the windy stage on the
all-new Felt DA, which is being ridden by Garmin-Transitions team riders this summer and will be available to consumers as a 2011 model.
