Fontana, California — The Kenda/Felt Mountain Bike Team kicked off its 2010 USA Cycling Pro XCT campaign in Southern California last weekend with some consistent top-20 finishes in the men’s race and women’s pro events at the U.S. Cup in Fontana.

In men’s racing, Arizona resident Andy Schultz finished 16th in the short track and 18th in the XC, while his teammate Colin Cares, the current Under-23 U.S. Champion from Colorado (pictured left), finished 18th and 19th in the short-track and XC events. Both Schultz and Cares raced on Felt Nine LTD carbon fiber hardtail bikes.

In women’s racing, Amanda Carey and Judy Freeman finished 10th and 11th respectively in the short track. Carey led the way in the cross-country, finishing 11th, while Freeman was 15th.

Next up in the Pro XCT series is the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, next month. Look for the Kenda/Felt crew to be there in full force.
