One week before the first world cup in Dalby Forest (England) the field of participants is filled with numerous big names of the mountain bike scene. Double Olympic champion Julien Absalon (France), Moritz Milatz (Germany), Jose Antonio Hermida (Spain) and the strong Swiss racers Ralph Naef and the Flückiger brothers will start in Münsingen. In the women´s competition, the fans look forward to overall world cup winner Lisi Osl (Austria), world champion Irina Kalentieva (Russia), the Czech U-23 world cup winner from 2008 Tereza Hurikova and the ninth placed at Beijing Olympics 2008 Rosara Joseph from New Zealand.
The race in Münsingen is the first race for the World Cup riders of the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team. A total of seven athletes from five nations, including five national champions are members of the Worldcup Team, which is based on a mixture of talented young riders and experienced athletes. The Slovenian champion Blaza Klemencic and the Austrian Karl Markt belong to the seasoned professionals who have already proved strong with podium rankings in the early season races. Both 2008 Olympian Adelheid Morath and Sabrina Enaux (France) overall winner of the Bundesliga in 2008 and winner of the Tour du Vaucluse VTT two weeks ago are in good shape.
With the German U23 champion Manfred Reis and the Austrian U23 champion Simon Scheiber the future of mountain biking will start in Münsingen for the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team. Aussie talent Paul Van Der Ploeg will join the Team for the first time since arriving in Europe two weeks ago. The reigning Australian U23 champion recently won the Oceania Championship and is coming off a fantastic domestic season. “Paul is an exceptional athlete. On the track in Münsingen he can show his strength," says Jörg Scheiderbauer, sporting director of the team.

The FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team is one of the largest professional UCI Mountain Bike Teams in 2010 with a Team Stand area of 120 square meters where the riders can warm up and the mechanic will work on the Athletes bikes. The Staff consists of a mechanic, a masseur, two supervisors, a PR manager and two team managers.
