Tyler Farrar wins Delta Tour of Zeeland!

Sunday, June 14, 2009
Holland - Tyler Farrar (USA), now known as one of the fastest men in the world, has won the Dutch 3-day Delta Tour of Zeeland (UCI 2.1) in impressive fashion and with the help of some amazing teamwork.

On Friday, Tyler took the opening prologue, a 2.7K affair, in 3.08 for a blistering average speed of 51.62K per hr!  From there the team did everything necessary to deliver Tyler to the line each of the last two days and Tyler took care of the rest.  With a second-place sprint finish yesterday to only Alessandro Petacchi, followed by another second-place sprint finish today to Robert Wagner, Tyler took the overall title!

The Garmin squad rode superbly throughout covering every threatening break, controlling the action at the front and putting Tyler in the best possible position to win each day.

Garmin's Delta Tour of Zeeland roster included: Tyler Farrar (USA), Julian Dean (NZl), Hans Dekkers (Ned), Micheal Friedman (USA), Danny Pate (USA), Kilian Patour (Fra) and Ricardo van der Velde (Ned).

Congratulations to the whole team on this big win!
