Farrar Repeats in Germany!

Sunday, August 15, 2010
GermanyTyler Farrar of the Garmin-Transitions team sprinted to victory aboard his Felt F1 at the Vattenfalls Classic ProTour race Sunday in Hamburg, Germany. Farrar, who also won here last year, became the first rider in the event’s 15-year history to win two in a row.

Farrar proved that he’s back on track after he was slowed by a fractured wrist at the Tour de France last month. Facing some of the world’s fastest sprinters at the end of the 216-kilometer race in Hamburg, he was led out perfectly by teammate Julian Dean, and then the American closed the deal. He outsprinted Edvald Boasson Hagen of Norway and German Andre Greipel to take the win.

Farrar said afterward his form is coming back, and he’s looking forward to the second half of the season. He will race the season’s final grand tour, the Vuelta a España, August 28-September 19, and is also focusing on World Championships in Australia in early October.
