Tuesday, July 27, 2010

ItalyFelt Ötztal X-Bionic team rider Natascha Binder, along with her teammate Bettina Dietzen, rode to a second-place overall finish in the women’s category at the grueling eight-day TransAlp race. The marathon off-road race started in Füssen, Germany, and finished in Riva, Italy.

Covering close to 600 kilometers and nearly 20,000 meters of climbing, TransAlp is considered one of the toughest off-road endurance events in the world. Binder and Dietzen, both from Germany, finished second to Anna-Sofie and Kristine Norgaard, two sisters from Denmark.

“I never thought that we would be able to land on the podium,” Binder said afterward. “Our second place overall is fantastic, especially because Katrin Neumann and Daniele Troesch were always right on our heels.”
