Thomas Litscher rides into the Top10 in Dalby: Best Elite World Cup result of his young career!

Monday, May 23, 2011
What a weekend for FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC rider Thomas Litscher. Starting with his silver medal in the Eliminator Sprint on Friday he rode his best World Cup Elite race of his young career with a 10th place in Dalby Forest on Sunday!
A fantastic weekend! From the start, Litscher rode in a strong group chasing leader and later winner Jaroslav Kulhavy and his only follower Julien Absalon. High speed and hard fights defined the group where nobody wanted to give up the Top10 ranks and Litscher did it right. Strong winds made it difficult and a tactical masterpiece at certain times, but Litscher managed it like an old-stager.
In the last lap, he was passed by Pietermaritzburg winner Nino Schurter but nobody else came close and Litscher celebrated his first World Cup Elite Top 10 result – beating no one else than world champion Hermida.
Sequel in Offenburg
Until Dalby Forest, Litscher best World Cup result was a 15th position in 2010 and the timing could not be better: Stronger than ever, the World Cup circus heads directly to Offenburg, the home race of the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Team and the place where Litscher always had reason to celebrate. It would not be a surprise if he can give the highly decorated riders a hard time there.
Charly Markt rides strong
Austrian Charly Markt also rode strong in Dalby Forest. With the much higher starting number 36 he had to overtake rider per rider on a course full with single trails. In the end, it was position 21 for Markt, beating all his compatriots and not allowing any doubt that he is the man for the Olympic Games.
Sabrina Enaux back on top
In the Women Elite Race, it was Sabina Enaux who started off the successful weekend. Enaux finished in 12th place 2minutes 41 seconds behind compatriot Julie Bresset, proving that she truly follows her plan: back to the top! Blaza Klemencic in contrast had a bad day. After her crash in Pietermaritzburg, she had to start with a high number and found it difficult to overtake and never found the right rhythm: 33rd in the end.
Adelheid Morath will start in Offenburg
Next weekend at the home World Cup in Offenburg the complete FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Team will be on the start. Adelheid Morath is back and joins the team after her surgery. After her test race at the Worldclass Mountain Bike Challenge in Offenburg last weekend, she has proved that she is ready for the World Cup. Olympic Champion Sabine Spitz also made her comeback in Offenburg in 2010 and finished in the Top10!
