Van der Ploeg Victorious at Oceania

Shepparton, Australia – Felt Oetztal X-Bionic’s Paul Van der Ploeg once again proved himself at the Australia Mountain Bike National Series, taking the Overall Series Championship in the U23 Cross Country and Elite Short Track with a pair of strong races.  Van der Ploeg secured the Titles with yet another dominating performance in both events.
The UCI Oceania Mountain Bike Championships in Shepparton, Australia marked the final event of the Australia Mountain Bike National Series.  Van der Ploeg entered the event with a commanding lead in the U23 XC standings and the Elite Short Track standings.  
In the XC race, Van der Ploeg showed his strength, taking the U23 win with an impressive gap of 52 seconds aboard his Six LTD.  The Elite Short Track came down to a two man race, with Van der Ploeg and another rider pulling away from the field.  Although he came up a bit short in the sprint, the second place finish guaranteed Van der Ploeg’s overall series win.
As evidenced by his strong performances in the Australian Mountain Bike National Series, Van der Ploeg is having a solid season, and is looking strong for the European race calendar.
