Carey Wins Georgia NUE Event

Georgia — Kenda/Felt mountain bike team rider Amanda Carey won her third National Ultra Endurance series race of the season in Georgia over the weekend, putting her in contention to take the overall series title in less than two weeks.
Facing heavy rain and tough, muddy conditions, Carey rode her Felt Nine to victory at the Fool’s Gold 100 in Dahlonega, Georgia. Heavy thunderstorms and rain turned the trails into sloppy Georgia clay, forcing race organizers to shorten the race. But Carey overcame the challenging conditions, extending her streak of winning every NUE race she has entered this season.
Carey’s win sets up a showdown between her and series leader Cheryl Somson at the series finals, the Shenandoah 100 in Virginia, in less than two weeks.
