Felt Riders Medal at Colorado Xterra

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Colorado — Felt-sponsored multisport athletes Seth Wealing and Josiah Middaugh took home two of the three pro men’s medals awarded at the July 17 Xterra Mountain Championship in Avon, Colorado. Wealing and Middaugh, both riding Felt Nine models, finished second and third respectively.

Challenges on the tough course at Beaver Creek ski resort included a 15.5-mile mountain bike section that climbed more than 3000 feet, topping out at a lung-searing 9500 feet.

“I really focused on pacing the bike by starting easier and building all the way through the first 2000 feet of vertical,” Wealing said. “I had a nice rhythm and was feeling good about my energy level and my effort by the time we hit the last downhill into the transition.”

Wealing and Middaugh, both Colorado residents, chased throughout the run, finishing just behind the day’s winner, Frenchman Nico Lebrun.
